Research is often the step in developing a marketing or communications strategy that is overlooked, forgotten, skipped over, side-stepped or just felt is not needed. We make critical business decisions way too many times based on our previous experience or just a gut feeling. Sometimes we’re right. Many times we are not. And, there is a big difference if that decision cost you a few thousand dollars versus millions.
We also think of research as expensive, but the real expense comes in making an uninformed decision. But as I always tell my clients, “the question is not whether you can afford research, the question is, can you afford not to conduct research.”
In this presentation, we’ll explore the role research can play in helping you better understand the needs of your customers when developing strategies – brand, product, marketing and sales messaging and competitive in order to compete in a dynamic market.
We’ll discuss various research methodologies including advanced analytics, the pros and cons of each, using a variety of case studies that incorporated research to identify the actionable insights that drove strategy development and ultimately, a campaign or new product.

OCCTAC was founded by Dr. Ana Jimenez-Hami in the year of 2000. After the tragic death of her parents, Aidita and Freddy Jimenez, Dr. Jimenez started the center in their memory. Her love for children with special needs and her parents’ humanitarian work gave her the inspiration to start this unique community organization that focuses on the ARTS as a vehicle to empower at-risk youth and children with special needs in Orange County.
In the summer of 2000, the Center began to provide after-school music and art classes to children with special needs. One year later, our agency expanded its’ mission to provide services to ALL youth, including typical children and at-risk youth due to the high need in the community, and lack of artistic programs for underprivileged families. Since then, the ARTS Center has grown tremendously, and expanded its’ level of services offering additional educational, therapeutic and a variety of support programs for families from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds in Orange County.
