Please join us on the 15th of February when the Dot Fulfillment Services in conjunction with the OC Marketing & Advertising Association will host a lunch & learn seminar at our Santa Ana headquarters.
Meeting Topic: Connecting Your Life, Work and Community
Why do we work? Sure there’s the obvious answer of a paycheck, but if that’s all that was involved we wouldn’t last long at our jobs. So what makes a job meaningful and worth returning to? What makes it more than a job? Melinda will share insights into ways we can make meaningful connections between our passions in life, our work and community and why it matters. You don’t have to work at a nonprofit to leverage the tips shared here. Topics touched on include employee engagement, retention, volunteerism, Corporate Social Responsibility and more.
Who should attend:
• Anyone who wants to know more about Corporate Social Responsibility
• Those who want to make a difference at work or in their community
• People who want to use their influence to help others
If you have questions you’d like to send ahead of time, share what piqued your interest in the topic or maybe you would like share with Meinda what you hope to gain from the presentation, the speaker will try to address them they day of the event if you send her an email in advance [email protected]

Our speaker for this event will be: Melinda Beckett-Maines
Melinda Beckett-Maines is in charge of national communications for the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN), a nonprofit association serving more than half a million acute and critical-care nurses. She joined AACN in 2014, after her father spent extended periods of time in his local hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
Prior to joining AACN, she oversaw North American marketing strategy, branding, public relations and communications strategy for Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A., Inc. for more than a decade. There she guided a lean team to achieve amazing results, including consistent B2B lead-to-sales increases, the creation of an award-winning website, the launch of the company’s first social media platforms and mobile app. Her most rewarding contributions, however, were creating corporate social responsibility programs while at Toyota. She championed the creation of the inaugural National Forklift Safety Day (2014), an annual event in DC; created veteran employment programs with Toyota’s dealers; and spearheaded low-cost forklift safety training for the under- and unemployed.
Our Local Orange County Charity that we will highlight at this month’s lunch and learn event will be: Community Health Initiative of Orange County
Helping families navigate the complexities of today’s health care system is essential to a healthy community. Community Health Initiative of Orange County (CHI OC) is a non-profit agency dedicated to reducing the number of uninsured children in Orange County. CHI OC helps families by screening them for health care and social services programs, determining their eligibility and assisting them with the enrollment process. After families apply, CHI OC’s Certified Application Assistants (CAAs) follow-up with them, ensure that they are able to access their covered benefits and that their coverage is renewed every year. Our CAAs are available to help clients throughout Orange County. Please call 714-619-4050 for assistance or more information.
